I have worked for 5 1/2 years and returned from maternity leave to be advised a few months in that my job is to be made redundant due to closure of the clinic and they are to set a new partner service up where the nurses will be transferred to and they do not want a receptionist. This happened in January, but this clinic is still open and a nurse is running reception and doing my duties assisted by a member of the Customer Services team. Where do I stand for unfair dismissal? I am also trialling a job in the Customer Services team and have not received the same training as a new starter so have been told I have performance issues. They keep asking if I am staying after my trial and I am only 1 week in. They also ask if I am having any more children. I feel pressured into leaving at this time. I have saved everything on paper that they have given me, including emails and rosters for new job.…

I have worked at the same company for 8 1/2 years and throughout this time was promoted to a senior position within the branch - I asked to attend a Supervisors course back in 2006 and have this on email, but it never materialised. Others within the branch were sent on these courses and fast tracked through promotion and were promoted to my managers early last year as soon as I became pregnant. I have been subjected to what I see as a campaign of humiliation and bullying and I have had no support from the management. Indeed I have been told off when I have complained about attacks. I was in tears at work every day. I advised that I feared this was all just an excuse to remove me from my job, but this was dismissed. Now I am on annual leave before taking my maternity leave and on the 2nd day of my annual leave I received an e-mail from the HR dept advising me to urgently contact work and that due to streamlining processes 4 people in the branch need to become 3, and that I am one of those affected, that I have to attend a meeting while on annual leave and that the decision will be made in 2 weeks. I do not know if I have a case but I have been through so much stress and heartache because of all this (since I became pregnant) and now there will only be 3 people anyway as I am on maternity leave until next year so this just seems like the opportunity they have been waiting for to use as an excuse to get rid of me.…

I work part-time hours - 30 hours a week and my employers are making redundancies and say that if I want another job in the company I would have to work 37.5 hours per week. Would the company have to pay me the full time equivalant even though it's more than the other person already doing the job?…

I am currently on my 27th week of maternity leave I am due to return to work once my SMP ends. I made a request to my employer for flexible working hours a month ago. As of last week I have had no response and have issued another letter to chase a response as I need to book a plc at nursery etc. I have heard through employees that there was a contract review which was lost. At this time all employees were informed and there was an informal mention of redundancy. I have since been informed by a colleague that they have had a subsequent meeting to confirm there will be another contract review in January and no redundancies at this time. My question is this: What should I do re my employers lack of response to my requests (I assume they are waiting to review the work in a few weeks)? Also are they allowed to completely ignore the law and not respond until they want to? Can I be made redundant (I assume it would only be 1 or 2 jobs lost) and as the whole department will not be closing should I still have a job to return to after OML? And a similar job after AML? Also have I been discriminated against end if I was not informed of any loss of contract which could effect my job …

I took maternity leave from my job as a manager. I did a few keep in touch days to do pieces of work only I can do and returned to work after 9 months. I had lots of holiday so I could spread my return over a month. This was all agreed in writing. When I returned I did not get my old job back. I was strung various lines of how if they did then the people who were covering for me wouldn't have any work to do. I was told I would have a new area, but this has never materialised. The department I used to be responsible for is now with the lady I used to line manage and she has refused to discuss work with me. I have been polite and compliant, but it has been six months now and I still do not have a job with similar responsibilities. At least my pay has remained the same. I am constantly asking for work and getting lots of odd jobs done. I was informed on Friday that I will be issued with a notice of redundancy soon as they are restructuring a department. That department was nothing to do with me before I went on maternity leave! I am not even part of it now. No notice has been given yet, but I have been informed I will have to apply for one of the 2 jobs available (3 people are being issued with redundancy notices). What is more frustrating is since I went on maternity leave 4 people have been hired on permanent contracts - one of whom does half my old job! Another is on a bigger salary than mine doing work I could easily do. I feel I am being discriminated against and unfairly treated. If as a result of the redundancy/restructuring I am not in a suitable role and find myself redundant I will want to take action - would I have a case?
