Can you please recommend any legitimate home pa/typing sites? I am a stay at home mother of two with many years experience as an administrator, financial services assistant and paraplanner and I am keen to carry out some admin, typing or PA activity from home. I would really appreciate any guidance. Many thanks.…

I work full time for a Local Authority who set up my homeworking seven years ago. We were 'taken over' by another company three years ago but kept all our terms and conditions etc. The company have been upgrading all the computers and updating programmes such as Windows and Office. But my system being different because I work remotely needs to be updated differently. The IT department have just said they are not prepared to support this homeworking any longer. There have been no discussions with me, no negotiation, I just got a visit from my boss totally out of the blue on Thursday and he has just said, sorry, but your job is still open working from the office. They have offered me to work whatever hours I want and over how many days, but I have commitments and can't work full time from the office, although I have financial commitments that mean I now need to work full time.
I really need to know if they can just withdraw it like this as I have been doing it for so long and also, if they can, should I not have at least been given some notice like 90 days or something.

I have been working for a well known national company for over 15 years. For the last two years I have been working from home under a local agreement with my manager. During that time I have performed well
with excellent reports from my manager. I also work out in the field so spend a lot of time in my car. Recently my manager has changed and the new manager has given me one month's notice to "get back into the office"
His reason is that everyone in the office makes for a more productive office. He cannot give me any
reason for personally getting me back in the office and he says the decision is his alone. I have a 13-year-old daughter and although it would not be easy juggling I could just manage. However, they are moving
my office a further 50 minutes drive away. This will mean that I have no chance of fulfilling my role and juggling my daughter. Do I have any rights to continue working from home as it has been working so successfully for the last two years?

I am on maternity leave. Before I became pregnant my role was the manager of a department and I had one member of staff working for me one day a week. Just before I went on maternity leave, I was told my department would be outsourced, meaning my job no longer existed. They said they had been thinking about this for a while, although they had said they would cover my maternity leave. They assured me that they would be looking to offer me an alternative position once I returned to work, but they would think about what that position would be nearer the time. Now they tell me there are no vacancies and would not create a new role for me. They suggest integrating me into an existing department. I am concerned that this would mean I return on a lower ranking than when I left. Can they do this? If I turn down this role if it is a demotion would accepting redundancy harm any rights I might have in a case against them. Also, because my returning role is undefined I did express a desire if possible to work from home for some of the time once I return and asked if this could be factored into the planning of my new role. I was told not to get my hopes up as they are unlikely to agree to it because they "don't want to set a precedent within the company". Is them not wanting to set a precedent considered reasonable grounds for refusal?…

I am currently on maternity leave and moved away from the area where I used to live a few months ago. I work in the IT Industry and the company I work for tends to encourage home working and all the necessary solutions are in place and I have for years worked form home at last one day a week. I contacted my employer earlier in the year requesting flexible working (part time and working from home) and they asked me to contact them again in June, which I did. They emailed me to inform me that they couldn't agre to the terms I requested and could have a meeting to discuss further. We then met with HR at the end of July and i explained I am prepared to work full time and look at a different or more junior role, but would have to be home based. They said they would come back to me within 14 days, but took until 19th August (my statutory mat pay finishes at the and of August). Unfortunately they can't offer me any role within the copmany that is home based. Now what? Do I have to resign from my role?…
