About Us

Little Fidgets was founded in 2006 by Lucy Amos, a qualified linguist, primary teacher and musician when Lucy decided to she wanted to change the way languages are taught to children – creating classes that were lively, engaging, funny and interactive.

Little Fidgets language classes are very active - we use the 5 senses as much as possible with our own fantastic collection of songs and rhymes. We run nursery classes, after-school classes and pre-school parent-and child classes with supporting CDs, books and take-home materials.

Our commitment to providing a truly magical, delightful learning experience, enjoyed by children, parents and teachers alike makes us unique in the market. Our uncompromising approach to the efficient delivery of classes and customer care mean that our business processes are outstanding. The amazingly positive feedback we continue to receive from parents and nurseries demonstrates that the Fidgets method is a winning formula.

About You

We are looking for people who are hard-working and well-organised. You need to be personable, ambitious and child-friendly - the idea of running round a room pretending to be a helicopter should fill you with excitement rather than horror!

You certainly don’t need to be a qualified teacher to run a Little Fidgets franchise as we train you ourselves and all the planning is done for you, with fully scripted lessons. In the past, Little Fidgets tutors have come from a wide range of backgrounds including law, biochemistry, HR and radio broadcasting. Your French or Spanish accent needs to be polished and it’s a real asset if you can sing a tune like ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’ without glass shattering!

Finally we’re looking for people who think that everyone should learn at least one language and that language learning should be fun!

Training and Support

As a Little Fidgets franchisee you’ll begin by attending a 3 day training course covering everything you need to know about teaching and running a business. You will receive highly detailed lesson plans for all your classes (all our activities have been thoroughly tested over several years by a range of teachers).

We provide you with an extensive box of teaching resources worth over £600, containing musical instruments, 24 gorgeous puppets and over 20 sets of pretend shop resources (ice creams, fruit and veg, clothes etc); you’ll also get a large set of flash cards, handsewn puppet bags, resource bags and other beautiful hand-sewn resources.

We provide franchisees with a highly detailed franchise operating manual, a training DVD, a webpage and email address as well as a clearly defined territory in which to operate. We also have an annual Little Fidgets conference to meet other franchisees and learn new skills.
