Back in 2001 Liz was a young working mum with an energetic 4-year old in nursery and another baby on the way. She had been to stage school and was training to be a dance instructor. It was then she heard about Primary Times magazines through a colleague and decided to explore further the franchise opportunity.
The idea of becoming a Primary Times franchisee appealed to Liz firstly because, as a young mum, she recognised how useful the magazine would be to both its readers and its advertisers.
For Liz personally - it was offering the best of both worlds! She could work for herself as her own boss whilst at the same time having all the help, support and practical advice she knew she would need from experienced people who had already proved the business model to be a success. She knew she would have to work hard, but the hours would be flexible and family-friendly – Primary Times publication dates meant she could choose to work school term-time only.
Now, having been the Primary Times franchisee for North London for eleven years, Liz not only has a well-established great looking magazine and a good income, but is mum to three lovely children.
The business continues to grow and fit in with her family lifestyle choices. She and the children are just back from a summer holiday in Mallorca. They went with another business-owning friend and her family – they first met when the friend advertised her film and theatre school in Primary Times!
