Assistant Audit Managers: Financial Crime & Regulatory Compliance Risk

The role is based within Global Internal Audit which provides independent, objective assurance to management and the risk and audit committees as to whether the framework of risk management, control, and governance processes, as designed and represented by management, is adequate and functioning. The function comprises a number of Global teams and Regional Audit teams.

Within the Global Operational and Compliance Risk team, you will assist the Senior Audit Manager responsible for managing the Global Audit Review and act as team leader for individual assignments within the audit.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Obtains, analyses and syntheses information for reporting on the adequacy of the internal control environment

* Ensure that the results of the work performed by the team meets the expectations of audit and business management and the regulators

* Based on audit fieldwork, drafts audit findings which articulate key issues and risks and propose root causes

* Maintain leading edge knowledge of audit and regulatory issues

* Undertake and pass the ACAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) certificate

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

* A track record of success in an Audit and/or Financial Crime Risk and/or Regulatory Compliance Risk role.

* Consistently achieved objectives set for them and taken action to improve their own performance

* Excellent spoken and written communication skills with experience of adapting their style and approach to the audience and message to be delivered

* The availability to undertake 30% international travel to Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and North America (on average two week at the time). Time off will be awarded in lieu

* Accountancy or Audit or Financial Crime or Compliance qualifications are desirable but not essential

Job Purpose

Support the FBP - BLSE in providing financial support, advice and governance to the Operating Unit (OU). Primarily accountable for providing accurate financial information to facilitate this.

Principal Duties & Accountabilities (8-12max)

* Timely production of accurate relevant monthly financial information, in accordance with Skanska internal, international and UK accounting policies

* Ensuring the integrity of the accounting system and processes including reconciliation of control accounts records and Balance Sheets

* Delivering the monthly, qtrly & year end reporting/forecasting cycle in line with the requirements of BLSE & SKUK

* Monitoring of the results against forecasts and budgets including the review of departmental selling and administration expenses

* Reporting through the Finance function, exercise appropriate governance to safeguard Skanska’s financial position

* Preparation of VAT returns, PSA and other tax returns

* Production of the BLSE Financial papers

* Provide year end statutory information to Group Finance

* Day to day management of accounts function

* Be a keen point of contact with the Finance Business Services to ensure that performance is optimised

* Prepare and submit weekly & monthly cash forecasts

* Work with the FPB in enhancing the performance of Finance within BLSE

* Accountancy qualification /Finalist – ACA, ACCA, ACMA
