Overall Job Purpose
Proactively assist Regional Account Managers (RAMs) and Telephone Account Managers (TAMs) in the delivery of Annual Premium Income (APE) and provide full and effective support to Accounts and RIs within a defined geographical territory.
  • Work with RSU (Regional Sales Unit) colleagues providing proactive sales and operations support to enable the RSU to operate at maximum efficiency
  • Regular contact with accounts  providing general information on Pru products and responding to enquiries and requests by providing illustrations and all other relevant information
  • Assist RAMs and TAMs by acting as a front line support resolving relationship threatening issues and chasing up all outstanding queries/requirements
  • Provide necessary analysis to enable TAMs and RAMs to win and generate new business
  • Be a point of contact for Accounts, RSU  and manage issues with internal departments to help resolve escalated queries
  • Make proactive calls to Accounts on behalf of given RSU where appropriate
  • Monitor the RSU business plan highlighting progress and areas of concern to the RAM
  • Personal development - Ensure you can demonstrate the appropriate product and procedural knowledge required by the company
  • Manage your own development by following a Structured Personal Development Plan, supported by the TAM and or Sales Support Team Manager (SSTM), designed to provide the necessary skills sets to progress to a TAM and or SSTM role
  • TCF (Treating Customers Fairly) - To ensure you understand the FSA's TCF principles and how they apply to your role making sure you consider fairness in all dealings with advisers / customers
  • Compliance - To ensure that you understand and adhere to Prudential's Code of Conduct and, where appropriate, comply with all relevant regulatory policies.  This includes completion of any mandatory training requirements
  • Financial Controls - Ensure all expenditure commitments (orders, contracts, budgets etc) and all payments are properly authorised, controlled and monitored, in accordance with Prudential UK delegated authority requirements. The responsibilities of expenditure authorised are documented in the Prudential UK Financial Procedures Manual

Experience and Skills/Knowledge:
  • Previous experience in Financial Services industry or in a telephone sales environment
  • Delivery orientated with ability to build strong relationships over the telephone
  • Ability to respond positively to changing situations 
  • Possess excellent organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines and targets under pressure
  • Good team player
  • Good industry and product knowledge gained in the insurance industry
  • Ability to work under your own initiative and prioritise your workload
  • Energy, enthusiasm and a positive "can do" attitude
  • Holder of CF1 to 5 (or previous FPC1 & 2) or prepared to study and pass RO1 exam within 24 months
  • Working knowledge of IT (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) and in-house systems and databases (SF.com)
