Job Details

We are looking for a Delivery Line Manager to join our team at the Wootton Bassett Delivery Office.

About the role

Reporting to the Delivery Office Manager, you will lead a delivery team of up to 73 dedicated full and part time employees in the successful delivery of quality, financial, customer and employee targets and objectives for your office.

Our World Class Mail programme is already starting to revolutionise the way we work. Through this initiative, we are introducing new techniques to help our people improve safety, productivity and quality across everything we do.

What does the role involve?

• Assisting the Delivery Office Manager and managing operations within a specific area of the Delivery Office
• Leading, motivating and coaching a team of frontline operational colleagues
• Monitoring performance, excelling in all operational targets
• Championing health and safety
• Identifying and driving areas of improvement, increasing efficiency
• Providing excellent customer service
• Monitoring the efficiency and performance of the fleet
• Developing positive relationships with stakeholders, including union representatives

About You

You’ll have strong operational leadership experience, with a track record of leading and supporting teams through change. With exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, you’ll appropriately communicate difficult messages while improving employee engagement. As an inspirational leader, you’ll have the ability to coach and role model leadership behaviours.

Experience in KPI and performance management is essential to this role. Utilising your strong financial acumen, you’ll have the ability to ensure your team meets and exceeds quality targets within the confines of an assigned budget. In addition, you’ll be commercially driven, with a strong focus on customer orientation. A proven track record working within a unionised environment will provide a distinct advantage; as will experience gained within logistics, distribution, fleet management or retail.

Shift Pattern
Monday – Saturday with a rotating day off. Typical hours are 6am – 2.15pm.
