We’re hiring a Lead Privacy Officer to join our banking start up in Mayfair

  • We are building a digital bank (with a difference) and you’ll be part of a small, friendly team
  • You’ll be the primary point of contact for all privacy and customer confidentiality matters
  • As a new business, we will be relying on you to define and deliver our privacy strategy
  • You’ll act as a key interface between first and second line risk functions
  • You should be comfortable with ambiguity and be prepared to dive in to solve problems in a compliant and pragmatic way

The skills & qualities you’ll need

  • CIPP/E Qualification
  • Excellent knowledge of UK privacy Law and regulations and the ability to transfer that knowledge appropriately
  • The desire to work collaboratively and build strong working relationships across all levels and functions
  • Well developed knowledge of risk management
  • Superb judgement in the development and implementation of strategic plans and good stakeholder management skills
  • Financial services experience, and knowledge of regulatory and commercial environments

Day to day, you’ll:

  • Provide accurate and sensible advice to our staff on privacy issues, including advice in relation to products and services
  • Deliver appropriate awareness and training to ensure your colleagues are appropriately educated around privacy issues
  • Own and drive the implementation of all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements and ensure they’re being correctly implemented across the business

What we offer

  • Lots of autonomy and the opportunity to learn a lot – fast!
  • There’s no dress code and we’re open-minded about work patterns, including part time (probably 4 days).
  • Although it’s fine to work from home a day or so, we highly value the interaction and camaraderie that comes from working alongside the rest of us here at our central London location
  • There’s a shower and room to store your bike if you ride, or we’re a very short walk from Green Park tube
  • We’ll even make room for well-behaved dogs
  • Available as a contract or permanent role

If you have been successful in progressing to the next stage, we will be in contact within 3 days of receiving your application. Please include in your cover letter, your salary expectations, availability and preferred work patter.

We want everyone to feel welcome, regardless of your background or needs. If you need adjustments to be made to your working environment, we’ll do everything we can to support you.

As a Financial Services organisation we comply with and support the requirements set by our Regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), which are designed to protect our customers. This role falls under Conduct Rules of the Individual Accountability Regime (IAR) and is subject to pre-employment screening. This means if your application is successful, you’ll need to satisfy some important background checks before you can start working with us. These will include a full credit check, a criminal record check, residency and right to work checks.
