What is the purpose of this role?

We are recruiting for a Catering Team Leader to join our Catering team on site at Abbeyfield School in Northampton. You will be an integral part of ensuring we provide nutritious and balanced diet to pupils of the school. Working alongside other members of the catering team you will be responsible for the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.

What will this role involve?

  • Food & meal prep
  • Ensuring health and safety is adhered to at all times
  • Maintaining an exceptional level of hygiene across the kitchen
  • Providing direction and team management to catering staff on site
  • Stock control and ensuring levels are monitored
  • Using internal catering systems  
  • Attend training courses necessary for development of the skills needed to carry out the tasks performed by the work group and learn how to act safely
  • Planning and delivering full contract training (in/out of hours) for the contracts assigned
  • Ensuring thorough communication of all new processes and any amendments to contracts you have been assigned

What are we looking for?

  • Previous catering management/team leader
  • Level 3 CIH qualification - desirable
  • Level 2 CIH Qualification - required
  • Understanding commercial processes and requirements
  • Excellent Planning and Organisational skills, able to effectively prioritise and multi-task
  • Team Building skills
  • Ability to communicate with team and management
  • Experience in a supervisory role
  • The ability to manage and lead a team in the successful delivery of required tasks
