Job Details

Are you looking for a rewarding job where you go home knowing that you have made a real impact on someone’s life? If yes, then come and join the fun in Poole!  About the role

We have a great opportunity for fun loving, passionate individuals to join our supported living team in Poole.

As a Specialist Support Worker you will support two ladies with specialist communication and sensory needs to live the life they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible.   These activities include going to theme parks, trips to the cinema and cafes along with swimming, bike riding and bowling just to name a few. The fun never stops!

At Sense we believe in offering a great work life balance so can be flexible and accommodate your own availability to work.  We have full time or part time hours on either a flexible or fixed rota.   You will be expected to work some early mornings, late evenings and at least one shift on the weekend, every 4 weeks as we provide a 24 hour 7 days a week service including waking nights and sleep ins.  Alternatively, you may work annualised or casual hours (£7.83 per hour) which provide you with more flexibility.

It would be great if you had a  full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle as we would be able to explore the wider community more easily.

Please select the 'Additional documentation' link to view the 'Service One Page Profile', this provides more information on the role and the service in which it is based.

About you

Experience is not necessarily required for this role as we are able to support you and provide you with an excellent induction. However, it is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives. You will also provide varying levels of support with personal care tasks.

*For genuine occupational reasons we are looking to appoint a female candidate only (exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9).

Our selection process aims to make sure that the role is right for you and you are right for us.  It involves completing an online application form, taking part in a value based interview/assessment process and visiting one of our services.
