Could you help some amazing people to communicate, express themselves and connect with the world? About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic support workers to join our supported living team in Havant! We have a number of flexible, permanent and casual roles where you chose the hours that best suit you; waking nights, day and weekend shifts.  We plan ahead to ensure that you have a good work life balance. You are able to work on a 2 week rolling rota between 12 and 36 hours per week.

As a Specialist Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life they choose: to make choices, to express themselves and live as independently as possible. Your patient support and encouragement will assist individuals to run their own lives as much as possible – helping with personal care, supporting someone to rustle up some breakfast, do the weekly shop or visit a local café.

Sense also supports people to take part in wellbeing activities, including cinema trips, theme parks, swimming and visiting the beach.

Being a Sense Support Worker can be the springboard to your future career - and to all sorts of opportunities and management roles.

We also have casual (bank) opportunities in this area attracting an hourly rate of £7.83.

Please select the 'Additional documentation' link to view the 'Service One Page Profile', this provides more information on the role and the service in which it is based.

About you

Experience is not necessarily required for this role as we are able to support you and provide you with an excellent induction. However, it is really important that you are able to demonstrate the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives.

We are looking for individuals with good verbal and written English to best support the communication needs of the service.

About us

For everyone living with complex disabilities. For everyone who is deafblind. Sense is here to help people communicate and experience the world.

We believe that no one, no matter how complex their disabilities, should be isolated, left out, or unable to fulfil their potential.

Sense has a proven record of offering high quality, pioneering services.

Working as a Support Worker at Sense can be incredibly rewarding; we offer the opportunity to work in a large, diverse and successful charity where people can develop their skills, knowledge and careers in a supportive and flexible environment. In addition, we have excellent training and development, the opportunity for you to join our Group Personal Pension scheme and a generous annual leave entitlement.

Please feel free to contact our Manager Victoria Gallagher-White to have a chat about this role
