A fantastic opportunity has arisen to play a leading role in the design and delivery of our China advocacy strategy.

About the role

Working in our Advocacy and Policy team, you’ll design and implement strategic campaigns to prevent deforestation. In particular, you’ll influence the timber and finance industry, as well as the Government among others, to advocate for policy and regulatory change.

You’ll have a collaborative approach, working closely with local civil society and partners. You’ll also build a strong network of contacts in the media to increase our profile and impact, creating powerful messages for change.

You’ll write the content for our digital output, as well as briefing documents in partnership with the communication teams.

About you

You’ll know how to create successful advocacy strategies for mainland China audiences and build awareness through influencing and advocacy, underpinning your knowledge with thorough research skills.

You’ll have excellent communication skills to explain complex policy issues to diverse audiences.  Being able to adapt your style to the audience to achieve impact is critical.  

You’ll be a real team player relishing close collaboration with our partners, colleagues and other important stakeholders to drive change.

Finally, your understanding of international natural resource governance and transparency issues will be essential.
