About the Warehouse Operative Role:
Joining us as a Warehouse Operative, you'll support all aspects of the effective day to day operation in our warehouse location; the role involves the sorting, packing and returns of newspapers and magazines to our retail partners.
In this interesting and challenging role you will be responsible for:
-Labelling and sorting of newspapers, magazines and parcels
-Packing of all newspaper and magazine products using the tracking process
-Loading and unloading of newspapers and magazines (using a forklift only if trained and authorised)
-Ensuring a high standard of good housekeeping, health & safety, cleanliness and security
-Tying/strapping of bundles as necessary
-Achieving pack accuracy and cost targets
-Ensuring compliance with legislation and company policy
We have both full and part time positions available. Key shift times range from;
-Day Pack: 06:00 to 16:30
-Stock Room: 08:30 to 17:30
-Returns: 08:00 to 18:00
-Twilights: 17:00/18:00 to 01:00
-Nights: 01:00 to 08:00
About You:
Although a track record in warehouse processes would be desirable, demonstrable flexibility to undertake a variety of warehouse duties in a fast paced distribution environment would be considered. You'll also be able to evidence:
-Strong communication skills and the credibility to effectively build relationships with all team members and management
-Tenacity and effective approach to meeting and exceeding targets and delivering an outstanding client experience
-Adaptability, positivity and effectivity when working with ambiguity and changing commercial drivers
-Ability to work at pace whilst maintaining an accurate, high quality output
-Highly organised with a well-developed approach to prioritisation
Although not essential, experience of working in Newspaper and Magazine distribution would be advantageous.
