Job Details

Could you help us to influence opinion and behaviour by shaping innovative and imaginative campaign communications?

About us

Our vision is simple: we want a better world - where corruption is challenged and accountability prevails, all can thrive within the planet’s boundaries, and governments act in the public interest.

At Global Witness we investigate and campaign to stop human rights and environmental abuses caused by corruption and the exploitation of natural resources.

We’re looking for a Senior Communications Advisor to work with our successful anti-corruption team on an interim basis.

About the role

You’ll create, plan and lead on the delivery of integrated communication strategies to raise awareness of our campaigns from ending anonymous companies through to stopping places like London, New York and Dubai becoming safe havens for the corrupt and their money. You will be the first port of call for journalists from top media outlets across the world and will be responsible for building strong and positive relationships with them.

Using a variety of communication channels you’ll raise the profile of our work in the UK, US, EU and globally.

About you

You’ll bring first class verbal and written communication skills together with a sharp eye for a story to help us influence opinion and behaviour by shaping innovative and imaginative communications for a variety of audiences.

Collaborative by nature you’ll help your campaign and policy colleagues to define their objectives, consider their audience and choose the right communication channels to create the maximum impact.

Working for us

We aim to be a diverse and inclusive place to work.  We value new perspectives, original ideas and different ways of working. We believe that different views and experiences improve the way we do our work. We do our best to make our jobs accessible to all regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, disability, sexual orientation or identity.

We offer an excellent benefits package including a competitive salary and 25 days holiday (exc. Bank holidays) private medical insurance and flexible working arrangements.

How to apply

When you are ready to apply please send in your CV (maximum 3 pages) and a concise covering letter (maximum 2 pages) which tells us why you’d be a great fit for this role to the email address below with Senior Communications Advisor, Anti Corruption in the subject heading and where you saw the role advertised by 5pm GMT Friday 8 March 2019.

Company

We want justice for those disproportionately affected by the climate crisis: people in the global south, indigenous communities and communities of colour, women and younger generations. We want corporations to respect the planet and human rights, governments to protect and listen to their citizens, and the online world to be free from misinformation and hate.
