What is the purpose of this role?

Amey are working on various projects throughout the UK, including Wales and Borders, TRU, Midland Mainline, Crossrail, the national level crossing framework and multiple immunisation projects. We are predominantly involved in Network Rail GRIP stages 5 to 8 design and build projects however we also have a number of early GRIP schemes. Due to increased workload we are seeking to recruit a Civils CAD Technician.

The successful candidate will undertake production of Civil design as part of a dedicated Civil design engineering team. In addition, they will assist the Civil design team with the preparation and amendment of Civil design deliverables.



What are we looking for?

  • HNC / HND, or equivalent in a relevant CAD discipline
  • Good IT Skills
  • Experience of AutoCAD & BIM
  • Experience in the preparation of Electrical schematic and wiring diagrams, arrangement layout drawings, equipment and cable schedules.
  • Developing and Embracing good practice in Health and Safety and CDM Regulations
  • Experience of innovative designs, value engineering and end to end service delivery.
  • Experience of working within design teams



What makes this role unique?

You will assist Engineers with carrying out project design deliverables, feasibility studies, report preparation, cost estimating, and Quality Assurance. You will gain experience in producing Rail civils designs and other associated engineering deliverables.
