The Role
We are now looking for a Food Production Assistant to work alongside our Kitchen Team at our Cash and Carry in New Malden.
You will be mainly working within our Tofu Factory to produce daily requirements of Tofu and supporting the wider kitchen / food counter teams when necessary. Your main duties will be;
* Oversee the production of the tofu;
* To be aware, adhere to and understand Food Hygiene regulations, personal safety procedures including the handling and use of knives and machinery;
* Maintain a clean and clear workstation at all times;
* Run end of shift checks on the workstation, ensuring that all tools and surfaces are clean and prepped for the next shift;
* Maintain a responsible, safe and professional manner at all times;
* Liaise with other departments to promote the smooth running of the Tofu Factory;
* Understand and follow all SOP’s for Tofu Factory equipment.
* Check the quality of the produced tofu (i.e. smell, taste, texture, colour, size), reporting any problems immediately to the Shop Manager.
* General production of the tofu, including; pressing, cutting, cooling and freezing.
* Completing checks of the soy milk, temperatures and understand the different requirements to make different types of tofu (fresh, short press and super soft).
* Engage and interact with all customers in a welcoming, friendly and professional manner – offering advice and exceeding customer expectations;
* Ensure the Tofu Factory is compliant in all audits including but not limited to; HACCP and BRC;
* In times of low tofu requirements, support other departments with duties;
* Any other reasonable management requests.

Expertise and Skills
* Relevant experience in the handling and preparation of food;
* Ability to work flexibly within a team or alone.
