Housekeeper (Part Time)

Please Note* the hours are 1pm - 5pm Monday - Friday.

Reports To:

Community Manager

Purpose of the Role:

To ensure the building, communal areas and grounds are kept to high standards of cleanliness. Handling maintenance issues reported by tenants where necessary.

Responsibilities:

* Clean all communal floor coverings, mopping, sweeping and/or vacuuming as necessary, including all foyers, stairs, stairwell, lifts, lift lobbies and window ledges. All floor coverings are to be left stain and smear free.

* All communal balustrades, handrails and communal surfaces, including window sills and skirting boards, are to be dusted, damp wiped if appropriate and polished.

* External ashtrays are to be emptied into non-combustible containers, thoroughly cleaned and replaced to their original location.

* External litter pick of grounds and perimeter of the building

* Comprehensive dustings to ensure all cobwebs are removed from window recesses, door recesses and light fittings etc.

* All mats, including doorway matting, and rugs are to be vacuumed and left stain free.

* Wipe clean all light switches, door plates, foot plates and general door furniture and carefully wipe clean any fire extinguishers.

* Within the lift all wall panels are to be cleaned, removing all finger marks, and the internal surfaces and mirrors, if any, left polished and smear free. Outside of the lift all doors/buttons are to be polished.

* All communal mirrors, internal glazed screens, glazed doors, including vision panels, are to be cleaned and left smear free.

* To have an open, friendly and helpful approach to all requests made with emphasis on servicing the customer.

* Health & Safety – to immediately report any health and safety matters to the line manager.

* Have regard for safe working whilst maintaining the highest level of personal safety and of those around.

* Ensure that the ‘Monthly Site Service Inspection Checklists’ or other similar checklist are completed and signed on a monthly basis.

* Monthly Clean of Gold Cluster communal areas

* Assist with the turnaround cleans in apartments/bedrooms

* Undertake quarterly showerhead cleans.

* Cleaning materials and store – It is the operative’s responsibility to ensure that adequate cleaning materials are available to ensure that the communal areas can be cleaned efficiently and effectively. A written request for all necessary materials is to be submitted to your line manager and these will be order once per month. To ensure that all designated areas for the cleaner(s) are kept clean and organised at all times.

* Maintain a clean and smart appearance at all times, wearing either the staff uniform.

* To give guidance and assistance to residents in a willing and friendly manner. To ensure that the highest levels of customer care and service are maintained at all times. Deal effectively with complaints, take the correct action and remain courteous at all times in person or on the telephone. Provide utility meter readings as and when requested by residents.

* Assist with any other reasonable duties as requested by your Line Manager.
