My client is looking for a Regulation 44 Inspector to carry out independent reports on its Children’s homes in accordance with the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
This family owned company owns Children’s homes, 16+ provisions, Schools, and health and wellbeing team (CAMHS) that complements its services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Carry out monthly monitoring inspections on all Residential Homes, under Regulation 44 of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
You will be expected to interview some of the young people and staff at the home
Inspect the premises and prepare a written report, concluding the inspection
The written report of each visit will be written and sent to the registered provider and manager of the home, Ofsted and placing authorities
The report must review some of the following aspects; Quality of Care, Safeguarding, Outcomes of the Young People, Leadership and Management, Equality and Diversity…etc.
Write reports that are balanced, fair and evidence based, analytical and report strengths as well as areas of weakness.
Triangulated evidence from interviews, observations or records is expected
Minimum requirements:
Be able to demonstrate a thorough working knowledge and understanding of the legal framework, guidance and standards governing children’s homes
Possess a minimum of two years’ experience working in a Children’s Home
Have experience of working in the Residential sector and possess previous OFSTED or Local Authority experience
Ideally have experience in a management capacity within a Children’s Home
Ideally have monitoring or evaluation experience and this may have included a regulatory role, although this is not essential.
Communication skills with young people and adults are essential
Competent and confident use of IT
