Our client is seeking an individual to join their team on a part time basis, ideally working 20 hours over 4 or 5 days.

You will be responsible for the administration and accounting for all purchases and payments the organisation makes; raising sales invoices and credit control.

The purchase ledger role requires that orders be placed onto the system, invoices matched with the orders and suppliers paid. Using Sage, you will keep accurate records, ensure payments are made on time and all relevant paperwork is kept in good order.

Main duties and responsibilities

* To receive purchase requisitions ensuring that all such requests have been authorised by a designated budget holder.

* Analyse and record all expenses.

* Administer the purchase ledger, ensuring that all invoices, credit notes and expenses received have been checked, approved and entered onto Sage 50 accounts financial system in an accurate and timely manner.

* Ensure that correct codes are allocated to the expenditure.

* Make payments to suppliers by BACS to agreed deadlines.

* Reconcile supplier statements, ensuring that any discrepancies are investigated and deal with supplier queries.

* To file all paperwork as appropriate and in a timely manner.

* Reconcile and review the purchase ledger control account and aged creditors report on a monthly basis.

* Accurately record VAT for all expenditure according to routines in place.

* Flexible in providing assistance to finance department colleagues as necessary, e.g. during times of high volume work or staff absence.

* Perform any other duties within the Finance Department as may be required.

Requirements:

* Previous Purchase Ledger experience

* Good organisation skills

* Dedicated, hard working and flexible

* Team Worker

* High level of competency in use of Sage and purchase ledger
