Job Details

An excellent new opportunity has arisen in our London office for an experienced Project Manager to join a high performing team supporting our Commodities and Global Markets business.

You will be a key member of the Commodities and Global Markets Central Operations function, and work with businesses and support areas to deliver key strategic projects. As a Project Manager you will have a strong line of accountability to the delivery leads, giving you a high level of responsibility and development opportunity.

Your project and work streams will include systems implementation, strategic change (e.g. CRM) and risk/regulatory change programs (E.g. LIBOR replacement).  You will work closely with business, Risk, Finance, Operations, Compliance/Legal and IT professionals in all global locations.

Your sound project management skills and comfort operating with moderate levels of supervision will be essential to your success. The role will require a high level of attention to detail, an ability to plan and execute projects and communicate (both written and orally) project information to management from all business areas. This would be ideal role for a front office technology professional looking to further their career in a business role.

As a key member of the team, you will be a self-starter and take part in the development, management and successful completion of initiatives. Your natural ability to develop meaningful peer and stakeholder relationships will be paramount, as you will work with both formal and informal project teams, internal and external vendors and consultants, and other cross-functional teams across the wider business including your global counterparts.

To be successful in this role you will have project management experience within another financial services organization as well as experience working on front office systems and/or risk projects, systems implementation experience and solid desktop skills including Excel and PowerPoint. Working with SFTR (security finance transaction regulations) will be beneficial. Qualities like effective meeting management and ability to establish leadership role on project teams of varying scope would also add to your success in this role.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.

Because of this, our commitment to you is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or cultural background.

We make this commitment not only because it is the right thing to do but it opens up a world of opportunity, securing the future of our people, our success and our business
