We are looking for a legal secretary to work for our world wide raw material business in Port Talbot. The position exists to provide secretarial and administrative support to the Employment Law, Centre of Expertise. The pay for this position is circa 20k pro rata on a 20-25 hour week.

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Legal Secretary to cover maternity leave working on a Part Time basis in Port Talbot, South Wales. Reporting to the Head of Legal Employment Law, the purpose of the role is to provide secretarial and administrative support to the Employment Law, Centre of Expertise. As the initial point of contact with client’s, the jobholder’s competence, manner and efficiency will often provide an immediate first impression against which the Company and the service is measured.

To carry out this role successfully you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

* Manage the Senior Employment Lawyer’s diary, including arranging meetings, interviews, conferences, travel arrangements and monitoring e-mails.

* Carry out audio/copy typing of correspondence, legal documents, witness statements, training programmes and presentations.

* Arrange circulation of various law report/updates to nominated recipients in the UK businesses (HR function) and managing the update of loose leaf legal reference material.

Requirements

* The jobholder must have a good knowledge of working in an in-house legal department or law firm (preferably with experience of working to an employment lawyer).

* Capable of providing efficient and confidential support

* The jobholder must have a high level of administrative and legal secretarial skills in order to perform this role.
