Hours- 35 per week (+5 hours paid lunch)

We design and deliver services that cover education, housing, substance misuse treatment and the prevention of reoffending.

Would you like to work in a lively team and gain experience of all aspects of communications, from social media to media relations?

We are looking for a dynamic Communications Assistant from any sector or who has recently completed their education to support our marketing, media, brand and policy staff on a broad range of hands-on activity across our platforms. You’ll gain a broad experience of communications while working with a close-knit and supportive team.

You’ll be able to help raise awareness of our activities and values and work directly with our services, and the people we help, around England and Wales, sharing our important work with external audiences.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Opportunities to generate content, from written case studies to video, for media, social media, websites, policy, campaigns and events
support staff and media on media requests and social media activity both nationally and locally
social media and awards planning and administration.
Assisting with schedules and planning.

The successful candidate should have:

The ability to work on audience-led communications such as targeted social media.
the ability to work collaboratively within a team and with staff at all levels
great organisational skills and attention to detail
an interest in the social justice issues on which Nacro works
enthusiasm, a flexible, can-do approach and a willingness to learn
the ability to work in a busy, fast-moving environment
an understanding of the role of communications, media, social media and brand
a degree or equivalent qualification.

PROPOSED ANNUAL LEAVE ENTITLEMENT CHANGES

Nacro is currently in discussions with Unite the Union with regards to proposed changes to our annual leave entitlement for all new staff who join the organisation from the 1st April 2019 onwards.

As of this date our proposal is as follows:

25 days annual leave (plus statutory holidays) rising by 1 extra day of annual leave for each complete year of service until a maximum of 30 days annual leave (plus 8 statutory holidays) is reached at 5 years of service Pro rata for part time employees.

The annual leave arrangements will be set out fully in the offer of employment.
