Communities Coordinator (Dementia Charity)  Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity. We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.  Position: Dementia Friendly Communities Coordinator  Location: Islington, London  Contract type: Part time, Permanent  Hours: 14 per week  Salary: £10,556 actual per annum  Closing date: 2nd May 2019  About the role:  Do you want to help make Islington a more dementia-friendly borough? Have you got the drive to raise awareness and empower and enable people with dementia to live well in a borough which is working to become more dementia-friendly? You will be approaching organisations and groups, meeting people and encouraging them to take action and join Dementia Friendly Islington. The role includes consulting people with dementia and carers on their priorities locally and promoting a better understanding of the condition across communities in order to reduce stigma and discrimination and promote independence for people living with dementia.  About you:  You will be confident speaking to a group and able to get people on board. You will be well-organised and flexible with good time management skills. The successful candidate will be educated to GCSE level or above, with good interpersonal and communication skills.
