Our Client:

The company are a well-known name within the machining industry and operate globally across multiple industries. With sites across Europe, they offer genuine support and a product that is constantly being updated to stay ahead of the competition. The company have experienced steady growth and have hit targets year on year. They are now looking to add this key position to the UK team in order to support and facilitate further growth.

The Role:

Reporting to the UK General Manager the Technical Account Manager will be responsible for the UK territory. The overall objective is to build up relationships with existing clients and be proactive in finding new opportunities through the existing database and warm leads. This is primarily a technical role involving consulting with customers to specify relevant machine solutions along with the right optional kit depending on the application.

Key competencies include:

* Management of own diary to make the most out of time in the week and maximise time in front of clients. Expect to be out 3/4 days per week (including machine demonstrations and/or technical discussions)

* Managing Customer needs which can range greatly. New technology is constantly being developed all of the time so the Technical Account manager must be able to keep up to date with changes internally and externally to identify opportunities.

* Dealing with Company Owners/Directors/Technical Staff.

* Attending relevant events and shows and keeping up with the wider industry and competitor technology.

The successful candidate will:

This role would be an ideal fit for someone from a technical background looking to progress into a challenging and varied role within an interesting environment.

* A relevant engineering background is important as this is a solution sell.

* Field sales/account management/proposals experience would be very desirable although training can be provided in these areas

* Experience in areas such as machine tools, cutting tools or grinding would be highly desirable

* Candidates would need to be self-motivated, proactive and organised to succeed in this role
