Based at our Sidcup Office DA14 5HU, with opportunities for travel to properties and offices across L&Q

Fixed term contract – initially 24 months with possible 12 month extension on completion of qualification

Salary - £19,201 per annum

We are also offering the opportunity to earn audit industry certifications (IIA). 

As an Apprentice Internal Auditor at L&Q, you’ll be working within our Internal Audit team assisting in the delivery of a comprehensive programme of audit work that covers the entire span of L&Q’s operations including construction, maintenance and central services. 

You will learn how internal audit meets the Board’s need for assurance, how to influence and direct changes to the framework of control and gain an understanding of the role of internal audit in risk management. You will help to test the effectiveness of controls using data analysis and understand how to maintain independence and objectivity.   

Your main duties will include:

*         Working within the audit team to delivery assigned elements of the Board approved strategy

*         Assist in drafting reports on progress

*         Provide support in maintaining internal audit records

*         Develop an understanding of data analysis including financial records.

 We’re looking for highly motived students who want to take their first leap into the world of internal auditing. You should have a drive to learn new skills and the flexibility to take on different tasks whilst producing work to a high standard. It will be key to have good time management as there will be points where you will need to work in the day and study in the evening.

You’ll need to be well organised and have excellent communication and collaboration skills. We are looking for a candidate with resilience, drive, enthusiasm and a passion to help people. We value those that can work in a team and apply logic and reasoning to a range of audit processes.

Other essential skills and experience include:

·       Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines

·       Good IT skills

·       Self motivated 
 

Key points about the programme:

·       Must have GCSE`s 9-4/A-C in English Language and Maths or equivalent

·       You must hold or be predicted to achieve at least 3 C’s at A level or equivalent

·       Must be able to work in the UK

·       Open to anyone aged 16 or over

·       No experience required

·       You will gain Institute of Internal Auditors Certificate in Internal and Business risk, moving on to Certified Internal Auditors Part 1 – Essentials of Internal Auditing
