Job Details

Our client is looking for exceptional Support Worker’s with experience of supporting children and young people with complex mental health needs.

They provide residentialCAMHs services and offer care and support for young people who have experienced difficulties in their life which is often connected with trauma of some type and expressed using self-harm, trauma based behaviours and those with a mental health diagnosis.

Position: Support Worker
Location: Bolton
Hours: Part time/Full Time, Waking Nights (guaranteed hours), 40 hours per week – over a 7 day rota including evening and weekend shifts, Sleep-ins
Salary: £8.40 - £9.00 p/h (overtime available) paid sleep-ins and additional Bank Holiday pay also available

About the Role of Support Worker:

Being a Support Worker for children and young people means that the people you support need to be cared for as a young person first and not a young person with problems.

As a residential Support Worker you will undertake a wide range of tasks which will involve direct and indirect care and support of children who have complex needs which could include emerging mental health conditions, such as Personality Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, PTSDand communication difficulties.

The Res CAMHs services uses an underlying therapeutic model, you will have full training on how to use this model to assist young people to make sense of their life experiences to date and how to ‘move forward’ with more effective and positive strategies.

About You:

As a Support Worker you will have some experience of supporting people with complex mental health needs relevant to the service, ideally within a residential or Children’s home environment.

You will display initiative and approachability, with the ability to coordinate and manage unexpected situations.

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team and be able to learn and undertake the essential training that is required for the role. A full driving license is also an essential requirement of this role.
