Dash Recruitment are looking for an experienced payroll administrator to join our client at their Redditch based manufacturing facility working to support the group’s payroll function. The role is offering flexibility around hours for the right candidate my client is willing to offer either full time or part time working hours, hours available are between 25 hours up to 36.25 hours
Duties to include:
To pay employees correctly and maintain proper payroll records.
To provide a confidential payroll function for the group’s employees.
To maintain the time & attendance system data.
Responsible for calculating the piecework bonus for factory personnel each week.
Provide support to the Senior Payroll Administrator as and when required.
To review time & attendance data to ensure that overtime is incorporated as well as absence/lateness.
To determine the paid/unpaid absence in accordance with company policy.
To calculate and enter holiday pay entitlements.
To set up new starters and leavers on the payroll system in accordance with the current legislation.
To update employees’ records in respect of individual pay rate changes, pension scheme contributions review and the annual salary review.
To calculate SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP entitlements in accordance with current legislation.
To submit electronic files as required by HMRC and pension scheme administrators (including Auto Enrolment).
To maintain payroll files electronically and physically, as required.
To keep records confidential always and respect the data protection act.
To manage the end to end process of weekly exceptions from the time & attendance system regarding monthly paid employees.
Ensure that the bonus calculations are completed by the time agreed with the Senior Payroll Administrator. This may require additional work at bank holiday times.
Advise the Group Payroll Controller of areas of concern - e.g. higher than expected bonus earnings, tickets completed inaccurately on a regular basis etc...

Demonstrate numerical agility, especially converting time to and from decimals, together with adding and subtracting time.
Who has good knowledge of spreadsheets?
Computer common sense and good computer housekeeping routines.
To hold excellent interactive skills with a wide range of people.
Ability to work accurately and methodically at speed is essential.
To run the computerised payroll system (Pegasus Opera 3) to calculate payments, and balance with control totals.
We are looking for a super flexible candidate, someone who can look to flex up to full time hours when covering both holidays & absences in the department. Someone who can provide additional support if extra hours at work are required due to deadlines.
