Internal Communications Manager

Our Client, a UK based charity is seeking an experienced Internal Communications Manager. This role involves regular travel, locally and nationally. Reporting into Head of Internal Communications

You will work within the internal communications team with regular interaction with digital teams who help to build internal communications tools. Your role will be to create and embed content strategy focused on users’ needs, open sharing of information, and ensuring the intranet achieves its goals.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with the head of internal communications, and the internal communications product manager in the digital team, to ensure you are both connected to and helping to lead the development of both the intranet and Workplace
• Champion user needs in the internal communications team and with stakeholders to ensure that the intranet and its policies and processes meet the needs of staff and volunteers
• Lead and design the development of content on the intranet
• Recruit, organise and lead training
• Regular interaction with senior leaders across the organisation, to help them understand the channels and opportunities
• Support the internal communications team, in developing training and confidence-building programmes where needed

The ideal candidate must have

• Solid experience of community organising or channel management
• Demonstrable experience of online content development, including writing for the web, and able to show examples of accessible, inspiring content
• Demonstrable experience in using metrics and user feedback to define/refine content
• Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills,
• Experience of running and managing training programmes
