The 3rd Line / DevOps Engineers are responsible for creating; maintaining and improving systems to meet business needs and to ensure applications perform optimally. The team manage the provision and maintenance of UAT, Development and Production environments and work alongside our Technical, Development and IT Security teams in order to ensure our applications meet audit, security and compliancy standards.

Our DevOps Engineers are key to improving our various development activities, including continuous integration, continuous delivery and continuous monitoring.

Responsibilities 
 

  • Manage the creation, build, upgrade and support for Production, UAT and Development environments. This includes: Database, Service Layer, Application Tier, Servers and related network configuration.
  • Adhere and maintain auditable processes for tracking the allocation of application environments, shared usage, code upgrades, decommissioning and re-allocation of environments.
  • Work alongside both internal and external Auditing and Security teams in order to maintain security of all environments and data.
  • Create and maintain data refresh processes and scripts ensuring that sensitive data is kept secure and anonymised.
  • Provide expert knowledge on IT environment setup, connectivity, server configuration and guide the Project teams in using the environments in the most efficient manner.
  • Working with the Testing teams to ensure they have environments they need to conduct end to end testing
  • Use monitoring tools against applications to analyse and identifying areas for improvement
  • Create and maintain documentation detailing the environments which host business applications
  • Identify and resolve vulnerabilities and risks across all environments
  • Work with 3rd parties to assist with upgrades/system enhancements
  • Provide 3rd level support to the Support and Development teams during system outages.
  • Create system roadmaps for infrastructure and applications to ensure future work is planned in the future.

Criteria Technical

 

  • Knowledge of at least one of the following areas:
    • Programming languages C#, .Net Framework & Powershell
    • SQL Server 2008 - 2017
    • SSIS Packages
    • Windows servers architecture including management of IIS
  • Experienced working with Team Foundation Server:
    • Visual Studio
    • Agile methodologies
    • Build & Release
