Can you lead our land and environmental defenders team in amplifying the voices of defenders, highlighting the critical work they do and the challenges they face on a daily basis?

About us

For 25 years, Global Witness has been protecting human rights and the environment by confronting corruption and the systems that enable it.

It has never been a deadlier time for land and environmental defenders to protect their community, way of life, or environment.  At Global Witness we’re campaigning alongside them, making sure their voices are heard and taking their fight to the corridors of power and the board rooms of corporations.

About the role

You will lead a passionate team to develop and implement our new campaign strategy aimed at ensuring natural resource companies respect the rights of local communities and defenders. You’ll work closely with the team to ensure our research, investigations and campaigns are of the highest standard and quality, but more importantly that they make a lasting difference to Land and Environmental Defenders and the communities they represent.

This role will involve seeing or hearing about human rights abuses and Global Witness will always provide you with support to manage your mental well-being.

About you

An exceptional leader with a track record in managing and nurturing large and dynamic teams. You will oversee complex investigations and the production of a variety of communication materials . A skilled strategist you will bring your experience in setting strategic direction and delivering impactful campaigns.  Finally you’re a brilliant advocate who can carry out high level advocacy in a variety of arenas from the business world to the UN.
