Service Manager – Part Time (Three Year Contract)

Royal Voluntary Service is an innovative charity that focuses on inspiring people to give the gift of voluntary service to support the NHS and older people at home and in the community. We are now looking for a part time Service Manager to join our team for a new three year contract until the 31st March 2022.

In this exciting role, you will have the chance to lead a passionate group of volunteers and deliver services that will make a positive impact on your local community.

As a Service Manager, you will be tasked with delivering our Supporting Your Recovery and On Ward services, which aim to support older people during and after a hospital stay.

The main focus of your role will be to expand the existing team of volunteers in the emergency part of the hospital. Volunteers will offer emotional support and reassurance to patients going through trauma or people with a family member who is being treated.

You’ll recruit, train and lead a team of volunteers to provide practical support and companionship to patients and staff within the A&E department in Addenbrooke's Hospital.

Specifically, you will:

- Build the volunteer team through networking at local events
- Manage rotas
- Ensure that the services are delivered in-line with contractual agreements
- Maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders
- Occasionally travel to visit service users throughout the area

Interested? If so, you will need:

- Experience at management level
- Networking experience
- Proficiency in industry standard IT systems
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at grade C (new system 4) or above (or equivalent)
- The ability to communicate using Skype, conference facilities and face-to-face
- A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle

Organised and customer focused, as the Service Manager, you will be a strong communicator with a team player mentality and the ability to plan effectively.

Recruitment experience would be beneficial to your application, However, this is by no means essential.

This is a part time role, working 16 hours per week, Monday – Friday with flexibility to fit around your other commitments. Some weekend and evening work may be required.
