Job Details

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Communicate customer expectations by means of the Estimate Kick off meeting
  • Provide job direction to the trainee estimator
  • Monitor the deadline for the quote response aligned with project procurement schedule.
  • Analyse and if required, adjust pricing information received from various supporting departments.
  • Finalize proposals prepared and ensure the required input from different departments such as production, contracts and procurement are aligned
  • Analyse data to understand performance against product types over time to show the business our current position
  • Understand market rates and our current alignment to this 
  • Identify VE options for Senior Contract Manager & General Manager approval
  • Work with finance department to understand factory overheads contribution, targeted margin and any impact of amendment of these
  • Owning and understanding job number creations and when variation required working with commercial and contracts
  • Working with Procurement team to understand and use set rates when possible
  • Work to improve current estimate format and assist in any system installed to achieve business estimating requirements
  • Perform take off and organise estimate to show what we have included and not included
  • Ensure we have quotes or logic to our cost build up and that it can be reviewed when required
  • Work with Contracts and Procurement to ensure costs are allocated correctly
  • KPI for the return of quotes once kick off meeting agreed
  • Scoping of works on new projects
  • Implement and maintain an approval process for all quotes
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

Required*

Experience within manufacturing environment

Experience in doing detailed take offs from various formats

Good skill level working with Excel and any other window software

Management experience

Desirable

Good understanding of Business financials

Experience of using different software tools

Good knowledge of Construction industry

Experience within Construction Industry
