Do you have experience of working in a call centre/customer service/helpline environment? Are you passionate about promoting the rights of people with a learning disability? An expert at speaking to people from a variety of backgrounds? We have a role for you!

We are looking for a new Customer Service Advisor to join our small team in Hampton, Peterborough. This role will be a part time position on a fixed term contract until January 2020, we are looking for someone who can commit to Monday – Friday working from10am till 2pm.

Our Learning Disability Helpline team provides information by phone and email to people with a learning disability, their families, supporters and carers. A key part of this role is also to ensure that people who contact us get the right support not only from us, but from other teams across the organisation.

We are looking for an organised and confident individual to hit the ground running, who is comfortable answering telephone calls and communicating with people via email. Experience of working on a helpline is not essential, but there is a lot of information to learn if you are new to this sector, so you must be willing to learn in order to be successful in this role. This role is extremely varied so requires an individual who can multi-task, prioritise, take direction and work on their own initiative.

Key Skills and Experience:

* Experience working in a Customer Service environment is highly desirable but not essential

* Knowledge of social care/welfare benefits would be an advantage but is not essential

* Great communication & interpersonal skills are essential

* Strong IT skills are essential as this is an office-based role

* Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while working at speed.
