Position: Direct Payment Advisor
Location: Hitchin, Hertfordshire
Job type: Part Time, Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2021
Hours: 21 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
Salary: £13,693 per annum for 21 Hours (£22,833 per annum FTE for 35 hours)

About the role:
This role assists in the day to day operation of a Direct Payment Support Scheme (DPSS) in Hertfordshire. The service provides practical assistance to adults, children and young people with a wide range of disabilities and who may be considering using the Direct Payment option to meet social care needs.
To ensure the support to individuals who have access to such funding by providing advice, information and guidance on all aspects of the scheme, either by visiting Direct Payment users in the community, by phone or by e-mail.
This position will predominantly support Direct Payment users in Watford, Hertsmere and Stevenage, but this may be subject to change. However there is an expectation that the applicant is flexible and willing to travel to any part of Hertfordshire if required to do so.
About you:
You will need to have proven experience of front line advice work at a generalist level across a number of support areas: i.e. employment law, recruiting and managing staff, budgeting and managing care needs.
To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, as well as strong organisational skills and the ability to work with accuracy and to deadlines.
