Permanent Full Time Contract

Formed in April 2012, the London Legacy Development Corporation's (LLDC) purpose is to use the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of the London 2012 Games and the creation of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to develop a dynamic new heart for east London, creating opportunities for local people and driving innovation and growth in London and the UK.

Responsible for delivering one of the most important Olympic legacy promises made in the original London 2012 Games bid, LLDC is a Mayoral Development Corporation directly accountable to Londoners through the Mayor of London.

It is our task to transform and integrate one of the most challenged areas in the UK into world-class, sustainable and thriving neighbourhoods. This will create a new part of the city in East London - an inclusive community, a thriving business zone and a must-see destination where people will choose to live, work and play, and return time and time again.

We are a Mayoral Development Corporation and therefore directly accountable to Londoners through the Mayor of London. We work closely with a number of organisations including the Mayor of London, the Greater London Authority, central government, the East London Host Boroughs, residents in neighbouring local communities, local organisations, businesses and regeneration agencies and national and international sporting, cultural and leisure organisations.

The role

Heading up a small HR team you will lead all aspects of HR for the organisation, including providing support to Foundation for Future London (https://www.future.london/) and London Stadium (https://www.london-stadium.com/)

You will provide strategic and operational advice to a range of stakeholders. Reporting the Chief Executive Officer, you will be a member of the Executive Management team. You will identify opportunities to improve performance and increase productivity and efficiency in corporate activities including finding innovative solutions to a range of resourcing requirements.

Working with directorates, you will help to identify the business challenges and provide collaborative best practice HR advice and workforce planning to address these. Diversity and Inclusion is a big part of our culture at LLDC and you will lead on the Diversity agenda across the organisation; working to ensure that LLDC is Diverse, Inclusive and is representative of the local communities we serve. Experience of making a difference to the Diversity Agenda in a previous role is essential!

The person

You will have significant demonstrable experience of working as a senior HR professional, preferably Chartered CIPD, with a track record of developing and implementing people management solutions.

You will be prepared to work in a small team and deliver at an operational level, but equally have the ability to think strategically across the organisation and provide innovative and creative business solutions.

Although LLDC has a large programme of work to deliver over the coming years, it is also tasked with planning for a time when its development work is done; however, there is still a long term need to manage the Park, Venues and Neighbourhoods through transitioning its functions to other successor bodies. The Mayor has said that he wants this transition of LLDC functions to begin in 2024/25 and to progress through the years thereafter.

This role therefore will play a significant and important role in leading on some of this work. To do this you will have solid experience of change management with the ability to navigate an organisation through organisational change. You will be agile, flexible and forward thinking and able to take LLDC through the next phase of its organisational journey with confidence and clear direction.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of delivering one of the most exciting projects in London!
