Our client has an opportunity for a Research Officer to carry out evidence-based research and monitoring into accounting, companies, industries and regulation.
Position: Research Officer
Location: Canary Wharf, London
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday 9.00 –17.00 (part time and flexible working hours considered)
Salary: £31-£36k depending on experience, plus benefits

About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented researcher to join our client’s team. You will provide evidence-based research and current awareness support to the organisation. Working closely with the Information Resources Manager you will:
- Execute research on long term projects requiring in-depth investigation and analysis
- Advise staff on search strategies and appropriate resources to facilitate their own independent research
- Compile daily and monthly digest of research reports and press stories relevant to our client’s research projects
- Maintain an interactive role during the course of a project, responding to research needs as part of the project life cycle
- Use appropriate external literature and internal data sources, resources and expertise to execute research
- Design questionnaires and manage the process of delivering them to external parties
- Present results in an appropriate format, including summaries, reports, and spreadsheets
- Carry out ongoing training of staff on research products and techniques
- Carry out all administration associated with the role such as document libraries on SharePoint, document management etc.
About you:
To be successful in the role of Research Officer our client is looking for the following skills and attributes:
- Experience providing information or research in a busy environment
- Familiarity with online literature and financial databases such as Ebsco, Nexis, AlphaSense, and Capital IQ
- Knowledge or interest in the areas of business economics, finance or professional services
- Good knowledge of SharePoint, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Although not essential, a qualification in library or information management would enhance your application
