We have an opportunity available for you to join us as a Pastoral Support Assistant. Based in Saxmundham, you will join us on a part time, permanent basis working 27.5 hours per week in term time only. In return you will receive a competitive salary of £18,870 - £20,500 per annum, pro rata plus benefits.

Saxmundham Free School is a maintained school set up in 2012 by teachers, families, the Seckford Foundation and other members of the community who were determined to make a positive difference to the educational landscape. We continue to exhibit that determination in all that we do. Teaching Years 7 - 11, we are a small growing school and are ambitious for our students. We see each individual as unique with their own strengths and needs.

About the Pastoral Support Assistant role:

Saxmundham is a confident and happy place. Our students receive excellent pastoral care and support in a small school setting. Our staff members know each of their students as individuals. We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to join our experienced pastoral team as a Pastoral Support Assistant to provide support to students and their parents.

Working with the Pastoral Support Officer, you will promote and improve student wellbeing, behaviour and attendance, and punctuality, thereby contributing to providing a high level of pastoral care that supports student progress and attainment.

Experience required to become our Pastoral Support Assistant:

While previous pastoral experience will be an advantage, we would welcome applications from candidates who are capable of dealing with sensitive and confidential issues, and who have the ability to relate to young people, parents and staff.
