If so, we have some exciting roles available for you within Rail Passenger Services and we would love to hear from you. 

The roles we have available are: 

Admin Hub Apprentice 

As part of the Admin Hub you will be part of a team that provides support to our Deputy Directors and the wider team. You will be responsible for responding to general enquiries on behalf of the Deputy Directors, diary management and acting as an IT Focal Point and Business Records Officer for the wider Passenger Services. 

Purchase and Pay Admin Finance Apprentice 

The Admin Finance team is responsible for the overall co-ordination, monitoring, reporting and consolidation of admin budgets in Passenger Services. You’ll be responsible for administering processes relating to Passenger Services supplier management, purchase invoice processing and payment procedures ensuring adherence to the Department for Transport’s (DfT) prompt payment targets and procurement regulations, and to provide advice to staff on relevant Accounts Payable matters, as well as provide periodic and timely management analysis. 

Within these roles your responsibilities may include: 

• Dealing with general enquiries to the Deputy Directors (including telephone, letter and email); 
• Preparing and collating papers using OneNote in advance of meetings paying meticulous attention to detail; 
• Providing support for Deputy Director’s meetings by organising hospitality, equipment and visitor’s passes; 
• Raising new Purchase Orders (PO), ensuring that all required evidence to support the order (contract, internal approval, confirmation of available funding, etc) is made available to the approver in a clear format; 
• Assisting with the management of invoice enquiries on any aspects of the purchase to pay process from budget managers, suppliers and the Shared Services Centre; 
• Maintaining appropriate records with current spend recorded against each PO to ensure that budgets are not exceeded.

You will have excellent communications skills both verbally and in writing with the ability to adapt your delivery to suit a wide variety of audiences. You will be well organised with an eye for detail, and someone who can work to tight deadlines. 

You will be confident and have strong engagement skills both with your colleagues and stakeholders, and will have the ability to build effective working relationships. You will be a team player and someone who looks to add real value to your working environment. 

Within this role you will be working towards a Level 3 qualification in Business Administration.

Eligibility 

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must: 

• Be aged 16 or over; 
• Have the right to live and work in the UK; 
• Not be in full-time education; 
• Not be in receipt of funding for other learning programmes; 
• Have valid and eligible residency status and be resident in the UK for 3 years before the start of the apprenticeship. 

If you currently hold or are working towards a similar qualification of the same level or higher, i.e. Business Administration Level 3, then you will not be eligible to apply for this vacancy. In order to be eligible for our apprenticeship vacancy, any qualifications previously held are currently being worked towards must differ in content so that this apprenticeship provides substantial new skills.

Upon satisfactory completion of 12 months service, your salary will be increased to the full rate for your grade.
