We are looking for flexible candidates to join our experienced teams of Residential Support Workers in Ipswich and surrounding areas such as Bury St Edmunds and Colchester. Successful candidates will be working with 11 to 25-year-old children and young adults who have an array of complex needs, learning disabilities, emotional behavioural difficulties and challenging behaviours.

Although at times challenging, this job can be extremely rewarding for the right candidate as you will get to support the service users both in the home and out in the community.

Any voluntary or previous experience is helpful however, not essential as we are a large training provider and will provide training for successful candidates. This will include Team Teach; Child Protection; Understanding Sexualised Behaviour; Working with Self Harm and Understanding Autism and ADHD.

This is a great opportunity for those who have worked in care, security or army environments previously, or have experience in bringing up their own children as everyday tasks such as maintaining a clean and safe environment, protecting the young people from any form of abuse, meal preparation, education, leisure activities and money budgeting will all be undertaken.

You will create a safe and positive living environment whilst encouraging the services users to gain independent living skills such as budgeting, shopping, cleaning. As part of your role, you will also set boundaries and interact with the service users during social activities! During your work, you may liaise with a number of multi-agency staff such as nurses, social workers, police and teachers.

Requirements for this role:

* Applicants need to be over the age of 21 in accordance with national minimum standards. Successful candidates will be required to obtain an enhanced DBS at a cost of £59 met by the applicant, unless you already have a current portable DBS. Please note that International checks might also be required as part of compliance if you have lived or worked for an extensive period abroad. All candidates must also successfully complete the induction assessment training as part of candidate compliance, prior to any placements being offered.
