We are currently recruiting for interesting and exciting positions at the Home Office. The Home Office keeps the UK secure and prosperous; protects its citizens, residents and visitors and their property; and upholds rights, liberties and the rule of law. Leading on immigration and passports, drugs policy, crime and fire policy, counter-terrorism and work to ensure visible, responsive and accountable policing in the UK.

Summary of work to be carried out:

•Develop the plan to deliver new network services for Home Office programmes and projects.

•Complete Project Plans, and programme plans.

•Manage a team of specialist network engineers to deliver new network services and ensure integration with existing estate.

•Produce Project RAID – Risk, Assumptions, Issues and Dependency logs.

•Assess and prioritise delivery plan with team resources.

•Deliver network projects and ensure smooth handover into operational service support.

Key Outcome & Deliverables:

•Knowledge of Project Management principles.

•Hands-On experience of managing government network projects.

•Knowledge of producing Plans in MSP, Project Resource Management, RAIDs.

•Experience in building and leading diverse teams of skilled people.

•Background in delivering technical projects involving network technologies in a public sector environment.

•Ability to co-ordinate project deliver with other teams and suppliers Understanding of Government network standards and policies.

•Experience working in Government or large and highly regulated environments.

•Experience working in a complex organisation including working directly with a variety and range of non-technical stakeholders.

•Experience in managing major Network engineering and transformation projects.

•Experience of project management of +1M investment.

•PRINCE2 and MSP or equivalent project management qualification.

•Delivery of projects into private and public cloud environments.

•Delivering complex network or data centre projects and working with technical engineering staff.

•Understanding of Service Management and ITIL.

•Broad understanding of Government Security Policy Framework.

•Has a technical delivery background ideally networking and infrastructure able to demonstrate previous roles working in technical engineering or service management positions.

Home Office offices in Manchester

Home Office offices in Liverpool

Home Office offices in Southport

(*Up to twice a month)
