Position Overview

An opportunity exists for an experienced Assistant Commercial Manager to join our contract working on the rail infrastructure in London and Anglia. The framework is part of Network Rails National Electrification Programme and includes the installation of a new 25kV Feeder Station at Beaulieu (Chelmsford) and upgrading the signalling power resilience of the C2C route from Southend on Sea to Fenchurch Street. We're looking for an experienced individual to provide commercial management support during the ongoing construction phase of this £22m portfolio.

As Assistant Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of subcontract administration and supporting the Commercial Managers when necessary. You will be consistently implementing best commercial practice through production of subcontract tracking, drafting new subcontracts, extending or uplifting contract values, assessing subcontractor applications and monitoring PO ceilings. You will also be supporting the reporting requirements to both internal and external stakeholders as well as production of KPI's.

What are we looking for?

To be successful in this position you will need to have 3 to 5 years quantity surveying and commercial management experience within the construction industry, preferably with a Main Contractor in the Rail sector. A proven experience in contract administration, SAP/ECC6 payments and management of the supply chain is required. Any experience within the rail industry would be advantageous but is not essential. Similarly, a relevant qualification or relevant body membership would be beneficial.
