Role Overview
An opportunity exists to join the commercial team supporting the Consulting business in Scotland.
We're looking for an Assistant Commercial Manager to join our team based out of our Eurocentral office (between Glasgow and Motherwell). As Assistant Commercial Manager your main duties will involve supporting the Commercial Manager in their day-to-day commercial and contractual tasks for a range of major clients in Scotland, such tasks might include:
- Support and reporting to Project Managers and Account Directors.
- Prompt presentation or review and submission of applications for payment, maximising all contractual entitlements.
- Ensuring that prompt payments are received to meet contract terms and enhance cash collection.
- Collation and submission of estimate / tender scheme information.
- Collation and presentation of weekly cost / value information & associated KPI data.
- Support the preparation and presentation of monthly CVRs with final cost / value forecasts.
- Support the forecasting and presentation of forward works and expected cash flows.
- Support the populating and presentation of forecast & budget information on relevant contracts.
- Commercial management of Sub-Contractors through best practice supply chain management.
- Support the preparation of appropriate documentation in relation to variations, claims, additional payments etc.
- Support to the bidding, estimating & procurement teams.
- Support the liaison with clients on all commercial matters, meeting their requirements whilst ensuring all supporting documentation is in place to build trust and good relations.
- Preparation of financial documents to support tenders and price submissions.
What are we looking for?
This role requires an upfront & proactive approach and the ability to form strong, open working relationships with colleagues and management based on trust & integrity. The role would suit a hands-on individual who is confident in using MS Excel and keen to drill into data and draw logical conclusions from it.
A background in commercial management or quantity surveying would be beneficial, as would any relevant qualification or degree; accreditation by the RICS or a similar professional body would be an additional advantage. A full driving license will be required.
