We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join our tech team on a permanent basis in Stratford.

You will be responsible for the end to end operational integrity and BAU service for Infrastructure Services across the Ladbrokes Coral Group, with a focus on Linux operating systems. We’re looking for energetic and dynamic individuals to join our sociable team, providing second and third line technical support for internal and external customer issues.

You'll be responsible for operationalising all new integrated hosting and Infrastructure platforms and will look to eliminate manual activities through automation.

Key Requirements

  • Responsible for the Management and Maintenance of the Windows and Linux server infrastructure, including Performance Monitoring, Backup, Security patching and performance optimization.
  • Provide Technical resource for Technology projects.
  • Resolve Infrastructure or hosting related technical issues.
  • Support 24X7 operations by participating in the out of hours support rot.
  • Producing monthly metric reporting on the platforms performance & capacity.
  • Responsible for platform adherence to the published incident, problem and change policies.
  • Support Service Quality teams in incident resolution and problem solving.
  •   Support 24x7 Infrastructure services improvements to ensure MTTR is optimized.

You will already have a combination of the following:

  • Experience managing large-scale, global high availability, mission-critical infrastructure services (including hosting, public and private cloud offerings)
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux operating systems is an absolute must have
  • Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms - AWS, GCP, Azure
  • Must have a solid understanding of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles, practices and processes in providing and managing the delivery of a large scale, enterprise-wide service. 
  • Excellent root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience managing large-scale, global high availability, mission-critical infrastructure services (including hosting, public and private cloud offerings)  
  • Good knowledge of Windows operating systems is useful
  • Working knowledge of load-balancing and backup technologies 
  • Clustering with Veritas Cluster Services\Infoscale
  • Proven experience in designing and delivering technical solutions that address commercial problems.  
  • Scripting Technologies - Powershell, Bash, Perl
  • Configuration management and Automation tools - Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform
