We are now recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to take control of all aspects of the day-to-day Purchase Ledger functions.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Day-to-day tasks:

  • Recording Accounts Payable invoices via the Purchase Invoice Register and obtaining authorization from the relevant managers
  • Authorising and posting approved invoices to the Purchase ledger accounts
  • Matching and receiving multi-currency supplier invoices against POs and Goods Received Notes
  • Setting up new supplier records and making sure that existing supplier accounts are kept up to date
  • Reviewing expense claim forms for accuracy
  • Reconciling supplier accounts against statements
  • Dealing with Purchase ledger queries
  • Running the Suggested payments list and liaising with management on invoices due for payment
  • Setting up the weekly payment run and ad-hoc pro-forma payments
  • Sending out remittance advices
  • Posting and allocating Purchase ledger payments via the cashbook
  • Preparing the weekly sales report for management
  • Other ad hoc tasks and reports as required by the Financial Controller

Month end tasks:

  • Making sure that all payments are allocated and the Debtors report has no unallocated entries
  • Reconciling multi-currency bank accounts
  • Assisting the Financial Controller in the preparation of month end journals
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts assigned by Financial Controller
  • Making sure that all outstanding orders are invoiced prior to month end closing
  • Assisting the Financial Controller in the preparation of account profitability report

Capabilities:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Well organised
  • IT literate including Microsoft Office – Opera 3 knowledge is an advantage
  • Accounting qualification (e.g.: AAT) – part or fully qualified

Remuneration

  • Working hours 9 am – 5.30pm - flexible working is available
  • 24 days pro-rata holiday plus bank holidays
