Position Overview

An opportunity exists for a Senior Commercial Manager to join our contract working on the rail from London to Corby for Network Rail. The project is part of Network Rail's key infrastructure investment plans for upgrading the Midland mainline and includes the installation of a new line between Bedford and Kettering together with Civils interventions at various structures along the route. We're looking for an experienced individual to provide commercial management during the ongoing construction phase of this £80 million project.

As Senior Commercial Manager you will be responsible for supporting successful commercial outcomes of a section of the project, implementing the commercial strategy and applying best commercial practice in all aspects of Value and Cost Management, Influencing the procurement strategy and overseeing the production of robust Sub-Contracts, risk management and providing valuation of change expertise. You will also be supporting the reporting requirements to both internal and external stakeholders as well as production of KPI's.

As a Senior member of the Commercial team you will also be accountable for the management and development of your direct reports.



What we're looking for

To be successful in this position you will need to be of a Quantity Surveying background and have experience in delivering large Multi-disciplinary Rail contracts for Major Contractors and managing a commercial team. You must have Target Cost experience in a collaborative environment, have experience Managing Sub-Contractors and internal delivery elements. You will need to have a relevant degree, preferably be chartered, have good communication and negotiation skills, with proven experience in change management and valuation of change.
