Join our expanding Compliance, Monitoring and Surveillance business, based in London.

As Senior Surveillance Manager, you will work with the EMEA Regional Head of Surveillance to perform surveillance for potential market manipulation and misconduct, as well as misuse of electronic communications.

You will oversee the smooth running of the daily surveillance activities across various markets to detect any potential incidents of market abuse; and support any external regulatory/exchange requests and investigations. You will complete deep dive investigations and regular reviews of any key risk areas; and act as a Subject Matter Expert and escalation point for junior surveillance colleagues in their investigations. As a senior manager in the Monitoring and Surveillance team, you will perform team quality assurance controls, ensure investigations are adequately documented, followed through to resolution in a timely manner and communicated to key stakeholders where relevant.

As a part of your role, you will work with local Compliance staff to determine an appropriate and coordinated level of surveillance. This involves leading efforts to identify gaps and weaknesses in the current surveillance programme and contributing to the design, development and implementation of surveillance solutions. You will also deputise for the Regional Head of Monitoring and Surveillance as and when required.

You are an experienced manager with 7+ years’ experience in either Surveillance, Trading or Risk Management gained within a Financial Institution.  Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels will be essential to your success.  You will possess strong knowledge of markets and trading venues, their operation and the potential for manipulation, client interaction and of the role of Compliance within the investment banking or financial services industry.

You will demonstrate a high proficiency in data manipulation and analysis, proactively identifying and analysing problems and proposing viable solutions, and in developing relationships across various stakeholders, including local and regional advisory Compliance staff, Technology and the business.
