An efficient commute from London, this Surrey based client is looking for a Senior Planning Officer as an additional resource to their Development Management function!
Responsibilities
Your main duties will be:
* Managing a caseload of minor and major planning applications within statutory time frames
* Provision of paid pre-application advice to developers, architects and external consultants
* Conduct duty planning and provide general planning guidance to statutory, non-statutory, public bodies and the general public
* Coordinate and independently carry out site visits and prepare detailed reports
* Negotiate, finalise and discharge conditions
* Change of use applications
* Advise planning enforcement teams about retrospective planning approval and variation to conditions
Candidate Experience
As the successful candidate, you will:
* Have 3+ years experience assessing and processing similar schemes within UK Local Planning Authorities
* Be educated to degree level in planning or a related subject (Desired, not essential)
* Hold Chartered membership of the RTPI (Desired, not essential)
Working Arrangements
* Pay rates likely to be between £30-40 per hour (Negotiable upon experience)
* IR35 - potentially outside
* Notices will be considered – shorter notices will be favoured
* Flexible working is available – to be discussed on a case by case basis
