Do you have a thirst for project management and unlocking the power of data? If you are able combine your analytical skills with project management experience to support the delivery of our expert resourcing services to the Department for Transport, we would like to hear from you. 
We are looking for a motivated and experienced senior team member who can influence our transformation to an efficient and respected central resourcing team. You will oversee the launch of new initiatives, undertake analysis of the impact and efficiency of current initiatives, while directing the collection and use of data. 

About the role 

This role sits on our senior management team for the Department for Transport Resourcing Group (DRG) and has line management responsibility.
As an experienced Project Manager, you will research, recommend and implement processes that help support the growth and change of our service offering. These changes led by you, will impact HR and Policy Managers across the Department, with consultation and planning needed to deliver this change in a structured manner. 
You will manage our Management Information (MI) team, who capture and report on our recruitment campaign success stories. This will provide you and your team the opportunity to highlight any areas of development so they can be addressed going forward and influence key stakeholders at a strategic level. 

As part of the role, you will be responsible for the co-ordination of the activities required to meet our statutory requirements with regards to governance and transparency. In addition, you will develop and manage productive relationships with our suppliers and support delivery, managing the commercial contract putting in place effective mechanisms to hold suppliers to account for the quality of the work done and their performance.
Technology in our Department is shifting rapidly to support more flexible ways of working and it is important that the group adapt to deliver services in the ways which mangers expect; this position is expected to horizon scan digital developments to enable teams to work smarter. There are numerous systems in place which need to be maintained and improved in appropriate ways and we would like you to set the direction. 

About you 

You will come with strong project management delivery skills, with the confidence to manage project lifecycles. You will have experience of managing and leading projects and project teams, setting project controls, design the project structure and appropriate delivery methodologies. Your exceptional communication and relationship building skills will enable you to support our stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, to effectively plan for the changes which are to be implemented. Your management reporting skills will enable you to manage and develop your team who are responsible for data capture, reporting and maintaining or improving systems. You will also come with experience of working within a heavily governed commercial environment bringing effective governance, supplier relationship management and decision-making skills. Above all we are looking for you to have a positive and flexible attitude demonstrating professionalism and inclusion across the team.
