Exploitation & Vulnerability Trainer - We Don’t Buy Crime (2 posts) Church Stretton, Shropshire Fixed Term until 31st March 2021 Part Time (30 hours per week)  The closing date for this post is 12 noon on Thursday 18th July 2019 Those currently eligible on the redeployment register will be given prior consideration. Interviews will be held on W/C 29th July 2019 based at Church Stretton Police Station, Shropshire The main purpose of the role is to develop, coordinate and deliver a prevention package around Exploitation and Vulnerability to internal staff and community groups. Main Responsibilities: To develop and deliver an education and awareness package which suitably reflects West Mercia Police’s Vulnerability Strategy in order to achieve a consistent community wide approach to raising awareness of CSE and the associated risks. To work in conjunction with the Community Groups and the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) Manager to ensure that all information is relevant and up to date. To engage with community groups to deliver a consistent message around vulnerability and the local pathways to use for help and assistance.  To provide quarterly updates to the Community Safety Partnership (CSP) regarding delivery of the package to include reach, impact and emerging trends / areas to address. To develop an evaluation tool to use for the sessions to enable the CSP to measure the impact and revise the training accordingly. To maintain knowledge / accreditation and skills with regard to national, regional and local developments in the wider Vulnerability field. To provided specialist advice and guidance to staff in other areas of business, raising awareness, promoting best practice and ensuring activity in accordance with the vulnerability strategy.  To identify key potential recipients and individuals of this package and build networks to enable delivery to be completed.  To provide any community based intelligence to assist with prevention and detection of crime and protection of vulnerable individuals. To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required. Experience/Skills:   Education to A level / level 3 qualification or equivalent. Preparing to Teach in Life Long Learning Sector qualification, Education and Training Award, or equivalent.  Knowledge and understanding of statutory / NPCC guidance and local safeguarding procedures, emerging national trends and best practice in relation to CSE, missing persons and online safety. Proven ability and experience in working in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver CSE, vulnerability or safeguarding strategies. Proven experience of handling information of a confidential sensitive and personal nature. Experience of teaching or delivering safeguarding or vulnerability packages. Experience of coordinating projects or training programmes. Experience of analysing learning needs, designing and delivering learning & development solutions and carrying out formal assessment against recognised standards. Competent in the use of IT including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. Excellent communication and delivery skills. Ability to develop appropriate professional relationships to ensure timely and effective delivery of the project. The ability to analyse all available information and identify risks to members of the public and the organisation and manage these risks. Special Conditions: The duties of this post involve exposure to disturbing images or tasks.   The post holder will receive mandatory psychological assessments annually. Regular travel throughout the Warwickshire and West Mercia Policing Areas. Casual Car User. Occasional evening and weekend working may be required.
