We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Digital Content and Intranet Manager. You will work with the Digital Channels Lead to deliver the strategy for internal digital communications within Department for Transport. 

You will be responsible for the day to day management of the intranet and will create user focused content which is engaging, compelling and fit for purpose. You will also help with the effective use of other internal digital channels, such as digital signage. 

You will work with the supplier to lead on the release testing of intranet functionality improvements. Working with the Digital Channels Lead to ensure functional improvements meet business and user needs. 
You will help to improve the adoption and engagement with the department’s intranet, providing support to users and teams who are looking to make the most out of the intranets collaborative features. You will ensure you understand how the department’s technology offering and smart working programme impacts MyDfT, assisting the Digital Channels lead to make the most out of these change programmes. 

You will understand and use methods for capturing and sharing insight and evaluate the effectiveness of internal communications, with a focus on the performance of the intranet and intranet content. 
You will have the opportunity to get involved with Internal Communications led events and activities, providing digital support for the running and user participation in these events. 

Your key responsibilities will include: 
• Day to day management of our intranet (currently MyDfT) 
• Content design of high quality, user focused and engaging digital content 
• Testing and release management of fortnightly intranet product releases 
• Line management one intranet content designer

About you  You are passionate about communications, demonstrating a creative and fresh approach. 

You have a broad knowledge of the technologies used to build and operate intranets, and a deep understanding of how to create engaging digital content that meets a user or business need. You have experience of using a range of digital technology and tools to support events. 

You demonstrate an understanding of the power of the web and social media for communicating and engaging with users with a broad knowledge of using web analytics to assess performance. 

You demonstrate confidence in dealing with people at all levels and have the credibility to build trusted relationships. With strong influencing skills, you have the ability to persuasively recommend alternative methods to meet the user needs. 

You are well organised with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands. You will be a strategic thinker who can look beyond the norm and offer an innovative direction.
